Wisdom literature - Wisdom literature is the a genre of literature common in the Ancient Near East. This genre is characterized by praise of God, often in poetic form, and by sayings of wisdom intended to teach about God and about virtue.

Fantasy literature - Fantasy literature is largely regarded as the "core" medium of the fantasy genre, and includes some of the genre's most complex works and innovations, often directly inspiring fantasy art and fantasy music, as well as fantasy film and fantasy television, though the latter two inspire a large amount of fantasy literature themselves.

Invasion literature - Invasion literature (or the invasion novel) was a historical literary genre most notable between 1871 and the First World War (1914). The genre first became recognizable starting in England in 1871 with the short story The Battle of Dorking, a fictional account of an invasion of England by Germany.

Outdoor literature - Outdoor literature is a literature genre about or involving the outdoors. Outdoor literature encompasses several different literary genres variously called Exploration literature, Adventure literature and Nature literature.

In the years following the Mexican Revolution, a nationalist different genre literature and masculinist image of Mexico emerged through the novels of the Revolution, the murals of Diego Rivera, different genre literature and the movies of Golden Age cinema. Challenging this image were the Contemporaneos, a group of writers whose status as outsiders (sophisticated urbanites, gay men, women) gave them not just a different perspective, but a different gaze, a new way of viewing the diverse Mexicos that exist within Mexican society. In this book, Salvador Oropesa offers original readings of the works of five Contemporaneos--Salvador Novo, Xavier Villaurrutia, Agustin Lazo, Guadalupe Marin, different genre literature and Jorge Cuesta--and their efforts to create a Mexican literature that was international, attuned to the realities of modern Mexico, different genre literature and flexible enough to speak to the masses as well as the elites. The Red Brush: Writing Women of Imperial China
