Prose Elements

E. B. White - Elwyn Brooks White (July 11, 1899 – October 1, 1985) was an American essayist, author, and noted prose stylist. He is most famous today for a writers' style guide, The Elements of Style, and for three children's books generally considered to be classics of the field.

Poetic diction - Poetic diction is the term used to refer to the linguistic style, the vocabulary, and the metaphors used in the writing of poetry. In the Western tradition, all these elements were thought of as properly different in poetry and prose up to the time of the Romantic revolution, when William Wordsworth challenged the distinction in his Romantic manifesto, the Preface to the third (1802) edition of Lyrical Ballads (1798).

Purple prose - A term of literary criticism, purple prose is used to describe passages, or sometimes entire literary works, written in prose so overly extravagant, ornate or flowery as to break the flow and draw attention to itself. Purple prose is sensuously evocative beyond the requirements of its context.

Prose & Poetry - Prose & Poetry, or Prose-Poetry is a competitive speech event practiced by state high-school forensics or debating associations such as the Ohio High School Speech League, but not by the National Forensic League (NFL). The NFL does have consolation events in Prose interpretation and Poetry interpretation at the National Tournament, but these are only open to competitors who qualified in other events and were eliminated before the late elimination rounds.

Ecological Stoichiometry: The Biology of Elements from Molecules to the Biosphere by Robert W. Sterner,
All life is chemical. That fact underpins the developing field of ecological stoichiometry, the study of the balance of chemical elements in ecological interactions. This long-awaited book brings this field into its own as a unifying force in ecology prose elements and evolution. Synthesizing a wide range of knowledge, Robert Sterner prose elements and Jim Elser show how an understanding of the biochemical deployment of elements in organisms from microbes to metazoa provides the key to making sense of both aquatic prose elements and terrestrial ecosystems. After summarizing the chemistry of elements prose elements and their relative abundance in Earth's environment, the authors proceed along a line of increasing complexity prose elements and scale from molecules to cells, individuals, populations, communities, prose elements and ecosystems. The book examines fundamental chemical constraints on ecological phenomena such as competition, herbivory, symbiosis, energy flow in food webs, prose elements and organic matter sequestration. In accessible prose prose elements and with clear mathematical models, the authors show how ecological stoichiometry can illuminate diverse fields of study, from metabolism to global change. Set to be a classic in the field, "Ecological Stoichiometry" is an indispensable resource for researchers, instructors, prose elements and students of ecology, evolution, physiology, prose elements and biogeochemistry. "From the foreword by Peter Vitousek: ""[T]his book represents a significant milestone in the history of ecology. . . . Love it or argue with it--and I do both--most ecologists will be influenced by the framework developed in this book. . . . There are points to question here, prose elements and many more to test . . . prose elements and if we are both lucky prose elements and good, this questioning prose elements and testing will advance our field beyond thelevel achieved in this book. I can't wait to get on with it.

Twenty Prose Poems by Charles P. Baudelaire, X
"From the introduction by Michael Hamburger: " "Baudelaire's prose poems were written at long intervals during the last twelve or thirteen years of his life. The prose poem was a medium much suited to his habits prose elements and character. Being pre-eminently a moralist, he needed a medium that enabled him to illustrate a moral insight as briefly prose elements and vividly as possible. Being an artist prose elements and sensualist, he needed a medium that was epigrammatic or aphoristic, but allowed him scope for fantasy prose elements and for that element of suggestiveness which he considered essential to beauty. His thinking about society prose elements and politics, as about everything else, was experimental; like the thinking of most poets it drew on experience prose elements and imagination, rather than on facts prose elements and general arguments. That is another reason why the prose poem proved a medium so congenial to Baudelaire.
